BACKGROUND

This reference originated due to a change in protocol from the local regions proven EMS protocol (GMVEMSC) to

the Army/AF Joint Pre-Hospital Protocol to assist street Medics in gaining proficiency in a system built for treating patients

out of tents and conex boxes in the desert.

The name of the reference is Anon's Band-Aid Pusher Reference in a tribute to my grandfather, who shared his love for the job with me. Back in his day, they were eating smoke and riding tail boards,… and did not take kindly to EMTs and Medics being in their fire stations. He called them Band-Aid pushers. And decades later, long into retirement, when I became an EMT and then again when I became a Paramedic, that's what he would call me if he needed to hurl an insult. I say that lovingly because we had a good old buddies relationship,

and LOVED teasing each other.

So here’s a salute to the best man I’ve ever known.

Assistant Chief Robert “Bob” Anon.

Past President and Charter Member of

the International Association of Fire Fighters -

Wright-Patt Firefighters Local F-88

for your lifelong love and dedication to the job.

A man I idolized and loved.

My Grandpa Anon.
